A recent statement shows that DBKL is planning to implement anti-homeless architecture across the city, which is similar to what Tokyo, London and Singapore has been doing. Netizens are complaining that such architecture will be troubling for everyone as public benches may be uncomfortable.

Must Build MORE Affordable Housing

Netizens add that such architecture won’t be too friendly to pedestrians. As it is, there has been a lack of free public seating in certain parts of the city, to which, many would have to buy a cup of sugary coffee in order to get a seat in the plentiful cafes available in KL.

Additionally, netizens say building more affordable social housing for those who need it would be the better solution all together. Additionally, hostile architecture would create an unwelcoming environment for people to gather in public.
