The incident occurred when the reporter asked why the “I Lite U” tourism project used an English theme. Nga responded that he would “contact your editor,” a remark NUJM said sends a dangerous message that journalists can be punished for doing their jobs. NUJM secretary-general Teh Athira Mohamed Yusof said such intimidation undermines press freedom and damages government credibility.
