KUALA LUMPUR — Transport Minister Anthony Loke admitted feeling “ashamed and angry” after another aerotrain breakdown at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 forced passengers to walk along the rail track early Tuesday. He told parliament punitive action would be taken against Malaysia Airports Holdings and its contractors for failing to ensure service quality.

The Land Public Transport Agency has been directed to investigate, with possible fines of up to RM250,000 per offence. Loke said despite repeated disruptions, the aerotrain maintains a 99% reliability rate. The malfunction marked the 21st incident since operations began in July.
