The Petaling Jaya Sessions Court has convicted Ismanira Abdul Manaf, 30, the mother of the late Zayn Rayyan, for child neglect. Judge Syahliza Warnoh ruled that the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt against the prosecution’s case. The court found that Ismanira had neglected her duty by allowing Zayn to walk behind her unsupervised, leading to his disappearance.
Child Neglect
A faint “Allahuakbar” was heard in the courtroom after the verdict was delivered. The judge then stood down proceedings before hearing sentencing submissions from deputy public prosecutor Raja Zaizul Raja Zaharudin and defence counsel Haresh Mahadevan.
