DAP has urged for Parliament to be dissolved alongside the state assemblies of Johor, Malacca, and Sarawak to enable simultaneous elections. Party secretary-general Anthony Loke said during the Johor DAP convention that unified polls would reduce costs, especially in Sarawak.
Elections
He noted that the 2023 six-state polls cost RM420 million, while Sabah’s upcoming election is expected to cost RM116.8 million. Loke added that DAP remains confident of retaining its five parliamentary and 10 state seats in Johor. The Malacca assembly dissolves in December 2026, with Sarawak and Johor elections to follow in 2027.
