Thai police are investigating a former Kelantan FA goalkeeper suspected of involvement in a fatal shooting at Kampung Bering, Sungai Golok. The 30-year-old suspect, who once played for Kelantan FA in 2019, allegedly fired 18 shots that killed Malaysian trader Mohd Fuad Fahmie Ghazali.

Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat confirmed the man’s football background and said authorities are working with Thai police to locate him. The victim’s pregnant wife witnessed the attack as her husband was installing a CCTV camera outside their home. Police have not confirmed whether the suspect holds dual citizenship.

Earlier, it was reported that a Malaysian trader had died after being shot by a known assailant at his residence in Sungai Golok on Nov 1. Recalling the incident, the wife of the deceased said the husband was installing a CCTV system when the killers appeared and started shooting at him. Doctors said he was shot 18 times. “As soon as several bullets hit him, my husband fell to the ground. “I hugged him while he was covered in blood. “But the shooter kept firing until he emptied the magazine before fleeing in a car,” she said.
