Two men posing as police officers were arrested in Ipoh, Perak, after attempting to extort RM300 from a motorcyclist over alleged illegal bike modifications. One suspect wore a Traffic Police Department (JSPT) t-shirt and claimed to be an auxiliary police officer.
Fake Cops Arrested for Extorting Rider
The rider, suspicious of their behavior, called a friend who filmed the confrontation. The video went viral, sparking public warnings about impersonators.
Real police later arrested the suspects outside a restaurant in Taman Ipoh Timur Baru and seized items including PDRM-branded boots, hats, walkie-talkies, and motorcycles. The case is being investigated under Section 170 of the Penal Code.
