KUALA LUMPUR: Local rapper Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, has been charged with drug possession and use following his arrest at a hotel on Oct 22. City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said officers found nine pills suspected to be ecstasy, while tests showed positive results for amphetamines, methamphetamine, ketamine, and THC.

Namewee faces two charges under Sections 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act, carrying potential jail and caning penalties. He pleaded not guilty and was released on RM8,000 bail. The case will be mentioned on Dec 18.
