A section of the 13th-century Torre dei Conti in central Rome collapsed during renovation on 3 November 2025, trapping one worker and critically injuring another. The tower, located near the Colosseum and undergoing a four-year restoration, suffered two collapses within hours, complicating rescue efforts.

Firefighters navigating unstable conditions used drones and aerial ladders to reach the trapped individual. Other workers were evacuated, some with minor injuries. Authorities have cordoned off the area for safety and begun investigating the cause of the incident.
