Police Launch Manhunt for Namewee Over Taiwanese Influencer’s Murder

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have launched a manhunt for local rapper Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, following the death of Taiwanese social media influencer Hsien Yun Hsin. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the case, initially classified as a sudden death, was reclassified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code after new evidence emerged.

Hunt for Namewee

Investigations revealed that Namewee, 42, was the last person seen with the victim before her body was discovered in a Jalan Conlay hotel room on Oct 22. Police believe the rapper is aware of the probe but has gone into hiding. Under Section 302, anyone suspected of involvement must be arrested immediately.
