Attention Engineering, a San Francisco-based AI startup, has secured $1.25 million in pre-seed funding to build a next-gen desktop assistant that’s ambient, proactive, and deeply personalized.

Founders Raise Funds for AI Assistant

Founded by 19-year-old Aidan Guo and 23-year-old Julian Windeck, the company is backed by Google DeepMind’s Lukas Haas, Village Global, and other notable investors. Guo and Windeck met through mutual friends in the AI space and quickly bonded over shared ambition.

Their advice for aspiring founders? Show progress (“slope”), personalize outreach, maintain momentum, move to the Bay Area, and be someone others want to work with. In their words: trust builds capital, and capital builds trust.
