The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) confirmed that Sekolah Rendah Islam (SRI) Al Afsari in Bandar Saujana Putra remains unregistered despite repeated reminders to apply for full accreditation.

Formerly known as SRI Al Fakri, the school only held temporary approval in 2012, which expired without renewal. JAIS said the school failed to meet requirements, including health and safety certification, fire department clearance, and planning approval to convert shop lots into educational premises.

As a result, 80 pupils were barred from sitting for the UPKK exam in 2025. JAIS urged parents to send children only to registered schools to avoid future problems.
