Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench to rescue Chelsea with a second-half equaliser in a 2-2 Champions League draw against Qarabag in Baku. Estevao Willian had opened the scoring for Enzo Maresca’s side, but Leandro Andrade and Marko Jankovic’s penalty put Qarabag ahead before halftime.

Garnacho’s composed finish ensured Chelsea avoided defeat and stayed level on seven points with Qarabag after four matches. Despite over £1.5 billion in spending, Chelsea extended their winless away run in Europe to three years, while Qarabag continued their impressive campaign after earlier victories against Benfica and Copenhagen.
