National men’s doubles shuttler Aaron Chia says he is open to partnering with any player at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, aiming to secure Malaysia’s first badminton gold since 2021. 

Aaron Chia New Pairings for SEA Games

The Paris Olympics bronze medallist explained that scratch pairings could boost Malaysia’s chances, as the Games do not affect world rankings. Chia, who will compete with regular partner Soh Wooi Yik, noted that final decisions rest with the coaching team. 

He believes experimenting with new combinations could surprise opponents and prepare Malaysia for the Thomas Cup. Malaysia last won gold in mixed doubles at the 2021 SEA Games.
