Balakong forest blaze scorches 1.2ha of hillside, no casualties reported

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — A forest fire broke out in Taman Seri Timah, Balakong, involving a 1.2-hectare hill area. The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department received the alert at 7.02pm and deployed 14 personnel from the Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Fire Station.

The operation used three appliances, assisted by Seri Kembangan and volunteer brigades from Balakong and Serdang. Assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar confirmed no injuries, and firefighting efforts continued late into the night. —
