PERMATANG PAUH — Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday launched the RM75 million Madani Mosque project in his constituency. He said RM42 million was raised from international donors and RM30 million from local contributors, with the remaining funds still being collected.

The mosque, built on a 2.14-hectare site, will serve as a community hub with prayer halls, a library, and accommodation. Anwar noted that the project, planned over a decade ago, progressed through cooperation between federal and Penang authorities. It follows the first Madani Mosque near Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur, launched earlier this year.
