A Malaysian driver tried to bribe a Singaporean police officer by apparently offering a SGD50 (RM160) bribe. However, according to an online post, the driver was allegedly fined (S$ 100,000) RM320,000. Many know now crime is not taken lightly in Singapore.

Furthermore, it is a conversation among Malaysians that Singaporean police officers are more efficient than most of Southeast Asia. Some are suggesting that we need to increase the salaries of our police officers in Malaysia in order for a smoother operational flow to happen. 

Others joked that since our neighboring country is a small place, giving bribes can be difficult as you may bump into the same person multiple times. Due note that Singapore isn’t that small.
