KUALA LUMPUR — Controversial rapper Namewee may face extended detention as police continue investigations into the alleged murder of Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh. Dang Wangi police said the remand order for the 42-year-old, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, expires Monday and will be extended.
Detention
Hsieh, 31, known as the “Nurse Goddess,” was found dead in a hotel bathtub on Oct 22. Police reclassified the case as murder, with Namewee identified as the last person with her. He has also been charged with drug abuse and possession after testing positive for multiple substances. The court fixed Dec 18 for mention.
