A KTM Komuter train overshot the end of the tracks at Platform 4 of Butterworth station early this morning, but no injuries were reported. The six-coach train, operating without passengers, derailed at 6.01 am during routine operations. 

Six-Coach KTM Train Derails 

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) said its technical team quickly arrived to begin recovery and safety inspections. While Platforms 1–3 remain fully operational, Platform 4 has been temporarily closed for repairs. 

KTMB assured commuters that services are unaffected and urged them to follow safety instructions. An internal investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident and prevent future occurrences.
