There are few heartbreaks greater than watching your child’s dreams end before they bloom. At Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), that pain echoed through the Dewan Tunku Canselor as two fathers stepped onto the stage — not to celebrate, but to say goodbye.
Children Lost – Tears Flow
When the names of the late Nurly Shahirah Azman and Fatin Nasrien Fadli were called, the hall fell silent. Their parents walked to the stage with trembling steps, accepting the degrees their daughters would never hold. Even Chancellor Tuanku Zara Salim was seen wiping tears as the tragic montage played.
Sometimes love carries on, even when life cannot.
For one father, pride and sorrow collided. “I tried not to cry, but inside, I was broken,” he said softly. Yet hope remains — Nurly’s brother now continues her dream, studying Special Education in her memory.
