Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that Putrajaya has accepted a court ruling increasing Sabah’s allocation from RM150 million to RM600 million, stressing the decision is unrelated to upcoming state elections.

Sabah RM600m Allocation NOT Linked to State Polls

He acknowledged concerns with the judgment but said the government held numerous meetings, including with Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, to ensure implementation.

Anwar emphasized fairness and accountability in managing Sabah’s entitlements, adding that negotiations over the state’s 40% special grant will be expedited once a new government is formed. The court order also directed Putrajaya to review the grant and apply Articles 112C and 112D of the Federal Constitution.
