Fadlun Mak Ujud Named New Kuala Lumpur Mayor

Fadlun Mak Ujud has been appointed the new Mayor of Kuala Lumpur effective tomorrow, succeeding Maimunah Mohd Sharif, whose term ends a year earlier than scheduled. The appointment of the 58-year-old received the consent of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, in line with Subsection 4(2) of the Federal Capital Act 1960.

Maimunah completes her final day today before assuming her new role as Petronas Property Advisor on Monday. Fadlun, a Universiti Teknologi Malaysia graduate in Town and Country Planning, brings more than 28 years of experience in planning, regional development and city management.
