Kedah Housing, Health, and Local Government Exco Mansor Zakaria has apologised after remarks suggesting Sabah voters could be won over with Gardenia bread sparked outrage. The comment, made during a DUN session, quickly went viral and drew criticism from various quarters. 

Kedah Exco Apologises over Bread Remark

Mansor clarified that he never intended to insult Sabahans, explaining he was merely referencing comparisons made between Sabah and Kedah. He stressed that his words were misinterpreted and asked for forgiveness, adding he did not want the issue to escalate further. The apology comes amid heightened sensitivity around Sabah’s state election campaign and voter sentiments.
