The Trump administration is preparing broad exemptions to its own tariffs in an effort to ease high food prices, according to reports. The plan, still under discussion, could cover imports such as beef, citrus, coffee, and bananas, though no final decision has been made.

Analysts note the move would mark a retreat from one of Trump’s core economic pillars, as ranchers warn increased imports could hurt domestic producers. The exemptions go beyond a September order that limited waivers to goods not produced in the US. 

Officials say the changes reflect voter frustration over affordability and rising cost-of-living concerns.
