A newly created WhatsApp group named “MB Selangor,” comprising government and opposition assemblypersons as well as party leaders, sparked controversy after a series of allegations surfaced against a PKR leader from northern Selangor said to be close to Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

The administrator, known as “Madani,” questioned the leader’s alleged sudden wealth, including ownership of a RM3 million bungalow, luxury travel and stays at high-end hotels. Photos of overseas vacations and claims of excessive appointments to state-linked agencies were also shared. The allegations, supported only by screenshots of WhatsApp accounts, circulated widely after going viral.
