Hamzah Zainuddin’s role as Opposition Leader is set to be reviewed at a Bersatu MPs’ dinner meeting scheduled at Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s residence on Nov 18. A formal letter dated Nov 10 and signed by Muhyiddin’s special officer stated that immediate action was required to expedite disciplinary proceedings against Hamzah, who had been summoned previously but did not attend due to overseas commitments.

It was proposed that Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Jidin be recommended as his replacement. The party’s internal tensions were heightened after Tasek Gelugor MP Wan Saiful Wan Jan and others were expelled or suspended.
