New: Spectators Hospitalised After Speedway Car Ploughs Into Crowd at Walcha Rally

WALCHA, NSW — A horrifying accident at a motorcycle rally turned tragic when a 27-year-old speedway car, following an on-track collision, smashed through a barrier and struck a mobile grandstand at the Walcha Showground. The crash, which happened around 6:15 pm, left nine spectators injured — including a 54-year-old man in critical condition.

Bystanders rushed in to help while NSW Ambulance paramedics transported the wounded, aged 20 to 75, to Walcha District Hospital. Authorities from the NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit are now probing the incident, and witnesses are urged to come forward.
