A 56-year-old woman in Kota Tinggi lost RM290,627 after falling for a picture-rating job scam promoted on Instagram. She was promised 20 per cent commissions but was told to first “purchase” pictures priced up to RM1,600 each.

She made 22 transfers to 15 accounts before being asked to pay another RM138,646 as a release fee. She refused and filed a police report. Police are investigating under Section 420 and urge the public to verify job offers, use Semak Mule checks, and call NSRC 997 for swift action.
