Malaysia’s Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has denied claims that alcoholic drinks were served at its Excellence Awards ceremony on November 8. Viral posts had alleged that wine glasses used at the event contained alcohol.
KPKT Denies Alcohol Claims
In a statement, KPKT clarified that the beverage in question was a cucumber apple slider, a carbonated soft drink with no alcohol content.
The ministry explained that serving the drink in stemmed glasses was standard catering practice for formal events. It strongly rejected attempts to create negative perceptions, stressing that the drinks were non-alcoholic and appropriate for the occasion.
