Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim denied allegations that he misused government assets for political campaigning during his recent visit to Sabah ahead of the state election. He clarified that all programmes were under his party’s banner, not government events. 

Anwar Denies Misusing Govt Assets

Addressing concerns about being seen in official vehicles while wearing party attire, Anwar explained that regulations require the prime minister to use official cars and security escorts for any programme due to safety considerations. 

He emphasized his commitment to separating political activities from government institutions, citing his decision to move a “Temu Anwar” session away from a university to avoid official involvement.
