Achraf Hakimi Wins African Player of the Year for First Time
Achraf Hakimi won the African men’s player of the year award after a standout season with Paris Saint-Germain. The Morocco captain lifted the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1 title, French Cup and UEFA Super Cup, finishing as Club World Cup runner-up. He beat former winners Mohamed Salah and Victor Osimhen to claim the honour for the first time.

Hakimi thanked his family, teammates and coach Walid Regragui, dedicating the award to Africans chasing football dreams. Morocco dominated the ceremony as Ghizlane Chebbak won best women’s player, Yassine Bounou took best goalkeeper and the under-20 squad earned best men’s national team.
