A chartered Airbus A350-900 carrying Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim became briefly chaotic when reporters were suddenly instructed to prepare for an in-flight media session. The aircraft had departed Addis Ababa’s Bole International Airport and was cruising smoothly at about 12,192 metres en route to Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria.

Two hours into the five-hour journey, journalists scrambled for cameras and equipment after Anwar’s Senior Press Secretary, Tunku Nashrul Abaidah, informed them the prime minister wished to speak.
