Amirudin Shari has acknowledged proposing PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar as a potential successor for the Selangor menteri besar post. Speaking on the Keluar Sekejap podcast, he said Nurul Izzah deserved an opportunity to lead and described the idea as a “good formula” to deflect perceptions of nepotism.

Amirudin added that he had personally conveyed the suggestion to her. His remarks followed earlier speculation that he might step aside for Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
