Veteran journalist Kalimullah Hassan has criticised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, stating that the leader’s words have become hollow and no longer inspire Malaysians. Writing on Facebook, he linked his disillusionment to decades of political crises, corruption and institutional decline that eroded national confidence.

He contrasted today’s climate with the early years of Anwar’s rise, recalling speeches that once captivated audiences and a period of national optimism. He argued that Anwar now symbolises this broader decline, citing Sun Tzu to suggest a gap between words and action. Kalimullah also warned of a troubling succession landscape dominated by ageing and weakened political figures.
