Najib Razak returns to the High Court today for a crucial hearing on his bid to verify and enforce an alleged royal addendum order granting him house arrest. Najib, jailed since August 23, 2022 over SRC International’s RM42 million, is now midway through his reduced six-year term after the Pardons Board shortened his sentence last January.
House arrest
He claims he learned on February 12, 2024 that the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong had issued an additional directive allowing him to serve the remainder of his term at home. After failing to obtain official confirmation, he filed a judicial review on April 1, 2024 seeking recognition and enforcement of the order.
Today’s hearing will determine whether this challenge proceeds.
