KUALA LUMPUR: Residents of Kampung Batu 10, Cheras said yesterday’s floods were the worst in five years, with water rising to nearly one metre in just 30 minutes. Village headman Napiah Harun said the community was used to minor flooding but the sudden surge left little time to save belongings. Families evacuated as homes in low-lying areas filled rapidly.

Floods – water, water, everywhere

PADANG BESAR: Felda Mata Ayer experienced its first major flood in over four decades, forcing residents to a relief centre. Long-time settlers said they had never seen water rise so quickly, noting past floods had always receded within hours.
