The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has announced an immediate investigation into allegations that businessman Albert Tei bribed Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, the former senior political secretary to the prime minister.

MACC chief Tan Sri Azam Baki said both individuals will be called soon to provide statements. He added that other relevant witnesses will also be contacted to assist in gathering evidence. Azam urged the public not to speculate and to allow investigators the space to conduct a thorough and fair inquiry. The statement comes amid growing public attention surrounding the alleged corruption involving the two prominent figures.
