A two-hour rescue operation was carried out after a man’s arm became trapped in a kitchen drain pipe at an HDB flat in Lakeside on Nov 27. The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it received the call at about 1.35pm and found the man with his entire left arm stuck under the kitchen sink.

Rescuers removed the sink and cabinet to create working space, while another team in the unit below cut part of the pipe to assess how the arm was caught. A lubricant was applied and the arm was freed without reported complications, SCDF said.
