AirAsia Completes Airbus-Mandated A320 Software Rollback in 24 Hours

AirAsia Aviation Group has successfully completed a software rollback on its A320 aircraft fleet in response to an Emergency Airworthiness Directive (AD) issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) after Airbus released an Alert Operators Transmission. 

AirAsia Completes A320 Mandate

The directive, received at 3 a.m. on November 29, triggered AirAsia’s Business Continuity Plan. The airline coordinated engineering, flight operations, ground services, and customer experience teams across Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Cambodia to ensure compliance while maintaining operations. 

CEO Bo Lingam emphasized that safety remains the airline’s top priority, noting the work was completed within 24 hours through meticulous planning.
