More than 150 anti-ICE protesters clashed with police in Lower Manhattan after reports that federal agents were preparing an immigration raid. Demonstrators chanting “ICE out of New York” blocked traffic, attempted to climb a federal garage, and hurled barricades and planters at officers. 

Anti-ICE Protesters Clash with NYPD

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch criticized federal authorities for endangering her officers, while the FBI and Homeland Security later apologized for the confrontation. 

At least 18 protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing government administration, though no injuries were reported. Witnesses described both sides as aggressive, underscoring tensions over immigration enforcement in New York City.
