PAS secured its first-ever victory in Sabah after Perikatan Nasional candidate Dr. Aliakbar Gulasan won the Karambunai state seat in an 11-cornered contest. Rivals included candidates from GRS, BN and Warisan. PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari described the win as the party’s “firstborn” in the state, noting the 371-vote majority achieved.

The result was hailed by PAS leaders as a significant milestone for the party’s presence in Sabah politics. Earlier reports confirmed that the Karambunai victory marked PAS’ debut success in the state’s 17th election, signalling a breakthrough in its electoral efforts.
