Phoong urged political unity for Sabah’s development and praised the party machinery despite the setback. The outcome marked a sharp reversal for DAP, which held six seats after 2020. Party secretary-general Loke Siew Fook also accepted responsibility, stating that the leadership would review shortcomings and work to rebuild public confidence.
