AGC Orders Urgent Probe into Manisegaran’s Custodial Death

The Attorney-General’s Chambers has ordered Bukit Aman to immediately complete its probe into the March 2025 custodial death of 41-year-old M Manisegaran at Bandar Sunway police station. Nine months on, the death certificate still says “pending investigation”.

Urgent Probe

Widow Rajeswari Subramaniam claims her husband had broken teeth, chest injuries and bleeding eyes. Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo criticised the delay, insisting Section 334 of the Criminal Procedure Code mandates swift inquiry. The family cannot claim insurance without a final cause of death. Rajeswari has begged Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution for help.
