Shah Alam, Dec 6 – Businessman Albert Tei today strongly denied allegations of a “dark conspiracy” with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad linked to the Sabah corruption and mining licence scandal. Speaking to reporters at the Shah Alam Court Complex lobby, Tei said the viral photograph showing him with the former prime minister was taken during their first-ever meeting when he was 37 years old.

“It was just a young man seeking advice from a 100-year-old statesman,” he stressed, adding, “Don’t slander Mahathir.” Tei, who gained attention after exposing alleged bribery of Sabah state assemblymen, laughed off social media claims of political plotting as “completely untrue.”
