Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh has strongly criticised Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail for stating that patrons of a recently raided health club were involved in “immoral activities.” Ramkarpal, a fellow Pakatan Harapan lawmaker, accused Saifuddin of breaching the principle of presumption of innocence.

“Such comments, without the benefit of proper investigations, are clearly an affront to the principle of one being innocent until proven guilty,” Ramkarpal said in a statement on Dec 3.
He urged the minister to refrain from remarks that could compromise the investigation’s integrity, stressing that Saifuddin “should know better.”
