KUALA LUMPUR: MCA has fired a direct shot at the unity government, passing a fiery resolution at its AGM during the weekend to cease all cooperation with DAP before the next general election.
Delegates declared that if any Barisan Nasional component party continues working with DAP, “the BN spirit has effectively ceased to exist” and MCA will chart its own path — a move sources say could see the party exit BN entirely.
MCA Drops Bombshell
Party president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong accused DAP and Pakatan Harapan of serial U-turns and betraying voters since taking power.
The decision now puts enormous pressure on BN chairman and DPM Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has repeatedly vowed to maintain the BN–PH electoral alliance against Perikatan Nasional.
Political analysts say MCA’s revolt signals deepening cracks in the Madani coalition just two years from the polls.
