Trailing early after Leong Jun Hao’s loss to world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn, Malaysia fought back. Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik levelled the tie, while Justin Hoh secured a straight-sets win.

The clincher came from world No. 5 Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, who overcame Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Pakkapon Teeraratsakul 21-14, 18-21, 21-17. Malaysia will face Indonesia in Wednesday’s final, seeking their first team gold since 2005 after four consecutive runner-up finishes.
