Umno is not ready to discuss a successor for the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, who died last Friday, said Umno Puteri chief Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi. Tuesday’s supreme council meeting at Menara Dato’ Onn, chaired by president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, only held brief prayers for Bung Moktar and discussed the Sabah election outcome.

“Many leaders are still sad; we are not ready,” she told reporters. Bung Moktar, Sabah Umno chairman, passed away days after retaining Lamag in the recent state polls. By-elections for Kinabatangan (Parliament) and Lamag (state) are scheduled for next year.
