The Education Ministry has reaffirmed that vernacular schools will not be closed under the MADANI Government. Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the Education Act 1996 clearly recognises SJKC and SJKT, dismissing viral claims suggesting otherwise. She urged the public to verify information directly with the ministry.

Fadhlina also highlighted ongoing efforts to expedite redevelopment of five SJKTs, including the long‑delayed SJKT Sungai Bakap and SJKT Ladang Jeram, where students are still studying in converted containers. At a ceremony handing over Smart Boards to 387 SJKTs, she reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening vernacular education and resolving long‑standing infrastructure issues.
