Transport Minister Anthony Loke slammed opposition claims that JPJ collection agents profit from road tax and fine transactions, stressing they receive zero commission from the government. Since 2016 (including under Perikatan Nasional in 2022), 10 agents have been appointed purely to offer extra convenience, not profit.

“They even pay JPJ for certain services like ownership transfers,” Loke said. Platforms seek agent status to bundle services for customers, while MyJPJ remains free and direct. He accused the opposition of spreading misinformation and labelling every applicant a “crony” only when it suits their narrative.
